This two hour training is to identify recruiters who will go into the community to find, encourage and motivate People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) who do not have health insurance to attend an appointment at the New York State’s Health Exchange with a certified Health Insurance Navigator. The Navigator will assist PLWHA with understand their health care options and enroll them in health insurance. In partnership with the New York State AIDS Institute, CHBT is offering this training to community leaders, HIV peer educators/workers, and interested others throughout Monroe County to support recruitment efforts of PLWHA to obtain health insurance. This training will provide recruiters with tools,materials and best practices to encourage PLWHA to attend there scheduled appointment. The trainings will also explain the use of incentives in the recruitment efforts.

This is not a training to become a Health Insurance Navigator.

Target Audience: Community Leaders, HIV Peer Educators, Peer Workers, other interested in becoming a recruiter.

Please note: Certified application counselors, Health Insurance Navigators, Health Insurance Brokers and others who have as a part of a job responsibility of recruiting and /or signing people up for health insurance services are not eligible to become a recruiter.
